About this course

This short course offers a structured and respectful exploration of marital intimacy in Islam, based on Mufti Muhammad Ibn Adam’s well-known book Islamic Guide to Sexual Relations. It tackles essential Fiqhi rulings, spiritual perspectives, and practical concerns around sexual relations, mutual rights, and ethical conduct within marriage. An important course for married Muslims and students of Islamic knowledge.

Course Overview

Marital intimacy is a crucial yet often neglected subject in many Muslim communities. Misinformation, cultural discomfort, and emotional barriers often prevent Muslims from gaining clarity on this important aspect of Islamic family life.
In this live, presentation-based workshop, Mufti Muhammad Ibn Adam presents a clear and respectful exposition of the Islamic rulings on intimacy, based on Qur’an, Sunnah, and his widely acclaimed book Islamic Guide to Sexual Relations.
Through two intensive sessions, students will explore topics such as spousal rights, sexual preparation and hygiene, intimacy boundaries, contraception, and psychological barriers. The course creates a safe and mature learning environment to address what is ḥalāl, ḥarām, and recommended in marital intimacy.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the Islamic framework for intimacy within marriage.
  • Clarify the rights and responsibilities of both spouses.
  • Distinguish between lawful and unlawful acts of intimacy.
  • Address cultural taboos and emotional concerns through Islamic ethics.
  • Develop a spiritually rooted and healthy understanding of intimacy.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Apply key Fiqhi rulings on intimacy with clarity.
  • Navigate sensitive marital matters with Islamic confidence.
  • Recognize the boundaries of lawful intimacy.
  • Understand the ethical and emotional dimensions of marital intimacy.
  • Build spiritually enriching and physically respectful marital relationships.
